Keep your eyes peeled for five things with a puncher’s chance of happening throughout the Washington Huskies‘ season.
Beating WSU
This will happen, or I will throw myself off the Fremont Bridge.

After the travesty of the 2012 Apple Cup, multiple enthusiastic beatdowns of the Cougars on the basketball court are a must. Washington will level Washington State in both meetings this year.

Aziz N’Diaye will have a breakout season for the Huskies. Clocking in at 7’0” and 260 pounds, Aziz N’Diaye has always had the tools to be a force in the post. Unfortunately, a lack of speed and coordination have always been his weaknesses, and he just hasn’t been able to put it all together.
But the 11.4 points and absurd 9.6 rebounds he’s currently averaging per game both indicate that this may be his year. He’s been a work in progress since he came to Seattle, but he has looked smarter and more physical this year. Watch him.
Excessive Tweeting
Holster those iPhones, media members. University of Washington has imposed a tweeting limit on the media during live sporting events (click the link and scroll down to “Live Coverage Policy” if you want to read the official statement).
It’s as ridiculous as it sounds. Media members covering games are limited to 45 tweets for football games and 20 for basketball games. I don’t even know what to say.
What if the players start tweeting too much during games? Does any other school have a policy like this? This should be entertaining to follow.
Absent Seferian-Jenkins
Austin Seferian-Jenkins will not return to the team, sadly. No official announcement has been made either way, but ASJ has too much to lose.
Don’t be surprised if Austin Seferian-Jenkins shifts his focus 100 percent to football.
In high school, ASJ was a basketball standout at Gig Harbor High School in addition to playing football. Steve Sarkisian promised him he would be able to play both sports if he came to Washington.
Last season, the 6’6”, 258-pound Seferian bolstered a thin Husky frontcourt. Averaging around seven minutes a game and relatively limited points and rebounds, ASJ nevertheless contributed with his presence in the paint and provided an extra five fouls to give. However, he was a finalist for the 2012 John Mackey Award (given annually to the best tight end in the country) and is a potential future first-round pick.
I think his basketball experiment may come to a close now that he absolutely has an NFL future. But we’ll see.
Sweet 16
The Huskies are going to the Sweet 16. Boom. ‘Nough said. What’s that? They’ve seriously struggled in non-conference play? Who cares?
March Madness has got the word madness in it for a reason. Weirder things have happened. This is the year.
Buckle up, Husky nation. It’s going to be an interesting season.
